Heart failure is a medical condition in which the heart cannot pump blood effectively to meet the body’s needs. It does not mean the heart has stopped working, but that it is weaker and unable to circulate blood properly. This condition can develop gradually and may affect people of different age groups. Common symptoms of heart failure include shortness of breath, fatigue, swelling in the legs or ankles, rapid heartbeat, and difficulty performing everyday activities.
